CO2 & Environmental Impact

Our Environmental Commitment

Supporting Biodiversity Through Wildflowers

At Dig Dig UK, we recognise that construction and plant operations contribute to carbon emissions. While we continually work to reduce our environmental impact through efficient machinery and smarter working practices, we also believe in taking positive action to support the natural environment.

As part of our sustainability commitment, we have launched the Dig Dig UK Wildflower CO₂ Offset Project — an initiative designed to support biodiversity while helping offset our carbon footprint.

The Dig Dig UK Wildflower Project is an evolving initiative. As we continue to expand the meadow areas, we will be sharing updates, progress, and images of the project as it grows.

On a single day in summer, one acre of wildflower meadow can contain 3 million flowers, producing 1 kg of nectar sugar. That's enough to support nearly 96,000 honey bees per day. Buy the end off 2021 Dig Dig UK is hoping to have 4250 Metre Sq with wild flowers

Why Wildflowers?

Wildflower meadows are one of the most valuable habitats for pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and other insects that play a vital role in our ecosystem.

In peak summer, one acre of wildflower meadow can contain up to 3 million flowers, producing around 1kg of nectar sugar per day. This can support nearly 96,000 honey bees daily, helping strengthen pollinator populations that are currently under threat.

By planting wildflowers, we are creating environments that not only absorb carbon but also support wildlife and restore natural biodiversity.
